Two Ethiopian Airlines pilots have been suspended indefinitely after falling asleep midair and missing their landing window.
The flight was from Sudan’s capital, Khartoum was to land in the capital of Ethiopia, Addis Ababa on August 15.
Due to the pilots falling asleep, they missed their landing window and the flight continued for another twenty five minutes.
According to BusinessDay report, the sleeping pilots were out of reach when air traffic control tried to establish a connection.

They woke up after an alarm ring after the autopilot system got disconnected and the flight made a turn heading back to Addis Ababa, landing at 03:16 UTC after initially overflying the airport. Both pilots were suspended.
