Football, the sport, the religion.
The top 5 football leagues in Europe have been a source of entertainment to people from different ethnicities, cultures, countries and continents.
These leagues are some of the few things on earth that can bind people from absolutely different origins together.
If aliens ever invaded the planet, I’m sure they’ll love this sport too.
Bragging Rights?
Unfortunately, or maybe fortunately, only one continent out of seven can brag of an undisputed hold on football as a sport and it’s Europe, its original home.
The Europeans simply have the best and most organized competitions in the sport across the globe and for decades, countries like England, Spain and Germany have held the game in a chokehold.
Which Leagues Are The Best?

While some fans of other leagues would likely disagree, majority would agree that the Premier League is the best football league in the world.
The Premier League houses football giants like Man United, Chelsea, and a host of other world class clubs.
Due to its highly competitive nature, the EPL makes more money than any other European league.
However, in recent times, leagues like Bundesliga and La Liga have been getting a lot of attention.
2. La Liga (Spain)
Due to the recent sucesses of teams in the spanish league, La Liga has been getting more attention from the press.
La Liga can now match some of its major fixtures toe to toe with those of the Premier League.
This is probably surprising, since the league has recently suffered the deparure of football superstars like Lionel Messi.
La Liga is home to world class clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid and one of its most highlights each season is the El Classico, a match between its 2 biggest clubs.
3. Serie A (Italy)
The italian SerieA also has the recent successful campaigns of its teams to thank for its spot on this list.
Recently, Juventus has consecutively gone past the Champions League Quarter finals.

Fortunately, a revamp among the Millan clubs, As Roma, and Lazio has given the SerieA a new competitive energy.

Yes, yes its a one club league, but the Bundesliga has seen some good times recently.
Germany’s biggest club, Bayern Munich, has continued to impress accross all competitions.

However, while Bayern might be the leaders, other clubs in Germany like Borussia Monchengladbach and Frankfurt also hold their own.
