Spain’s national football team has been left in a precarious position, as their captain Sergio Busquets tests positive for Covid-19 eight days before their Euro 2020 opening match.
This unfortunate occurrence has forced Spain to cancel their friendly warm-up match against Lithuania on Tuesday, despite the rest of the Spanish team testing negative for the virus.
According to Spanish Football Federation (REEF), While Spain is taking no chances with their Senior team, their friendly match with Lithuania will now be played by their Under-21 squad.
Meanwhile RFEF has begun offering ticket refunds to fans who want their money back, and is also offering discounted ticket prices to those who still wish to attend despite the changes.
