Despite a snow storm and a half-time delay, Manchester City has secured another premier league victory, as they defeated West-Ham 2-1 on Sunday.
City scored the first goal in the 33rd minute when Ilkay Gundogan tapped in Riyad Mahrez’s deflected strike.
Fernandinho then came on in the 87th minute and 3 minutes later, scored his first premier league goal since October 2018 to double City’s lead.
However, West-Ham refused to lose with a 2 goal deficit, and they lessened the gap when Manuel Lanzini pulled one back with the final touch of the game.
While this late goal was nothing but a consolation for West-ham, it unfortuantely robbed City’s shot-stopper Ederson of his chance to reach his 100th cleansheet.
Manchester City are now back in 2nd position on the league table, and have won 10 out of 11 top flight matches against West-Ham since Guardiola took over.
Speaking in a post-match interview, Guardiola, said: “The amount of chances we created, especially in the first half, in the conditions that both teams played in – it was a huge victory for us, for the effort of the players and the performance.
Speaking further Guardiola also said “We didn’t concede much. We defended the set-pieces really well and counter-attacks we controlled.
“We could maybe make another speed, another rhythm but weather conditions didn’t allow us to do it and it was a good performance from us.”
