In search of greener pastures, a man might have lost more than he bargained for. In 1974, Peter Oyuka left his hometown Makale village in Malava, Kakamega county, Kenya at the age of 37.
He went abroad to find a way to take care of his two wives and seven children but he never visited them once. It was gathered he visited his hometown 3 times but did not go to his house.
After spending more than 20 years, Peter Oyuka moved to Tanzania which is really close to his hometown and spent 13 years there and still didn’t make contact with his family. While he was there, he fell in love and the woman had a child for him.
And while he was busy with his life, his wives back home got tired of waiting and decided to move on with theirs. They both got married and moved on with their lives.

On the 21st of September 2021, he returned to his home and was of course unrecognizable. After a ceremony of killing a white goat to pacify the ancestors, he was finally accepted into his house, and when he found out his wives had moved on with their lives and shockingly he was not pleased with the news.
He had hoped that his wives would wait for him till he returned but was disappointed. Though he has a child with a Tanzanian woman, he is not able to meet his child because the woman stopped talking to him.
In his helpless situation, Peter has chosen to accept his fate and move on, he also wished his wives well in their marriages.
