In Ilọrin, Kwara State capital, a two-month-old baby (name withheld) was reportedly stolen from her mother during a school graduation ceremony.
The incident occurred around 3:00 pm on Saturday at a school premises located in the Deeper Life area, Sawmill, Ilọrin.The mother, identified as Sekina but known as Iya Mujidat, stated that her baby was taken by a lady who accompanied her to the graduation ceremony for one of her children.
The suspect is described as a tall fair complexion woman dressed in a purple Ankara with a black headscarf.According to Sekina, the suspect had expressed interest in learning how to make snacks and had been around for about two weeks.

However, Sekina did not know anything about the suspect’s family or residence and did not have her contact information.
They went to the graduation ceremony together, and the suspect offered to help carry the baby while Sekina accompanied her elder son who was graduating.
Unfortunately, the suspect disappeared with the baby, and despite reporting the case at ‘B’ Division Police station in Surulere, Ilọrin, they are yet to hear from the police.
The police spokesperson in the state, SP Ajayi Okasanmi, confirmed the incident, stating that investigations have commenced, and efforts are underway to arrest the suspect and recover the baby.
